Some manufacturers limit the number of attempts you get to unlock the phone. Here's what you need to know.

Blackberry

Every time you enter a network unlock code on a BlackBerry handset it will display the number of unlock attempts remaining. If this reaches zero, we can't help you unlock it. There might be a way, but if there is, we just haven't managed to find it.

Nokia

Nokia handsets are usually limited to between 3 and 5 unlock attempts. Unfortunately, they don't tell you how many attempts remain. If a "Code Accepted" message appears when you try unlocking it, it's not an issue! If a "Code Error" message appears when you try unlocking it, then you have attempts remaining, unless that was your last attempt. If a "Cannot Undo Restriction" or "Not Available" error message appears, then all the attempts have been used up.

We've been working with a new software method for entering unlock codes on Nokia handsets where all the attempts have been used up. So feel free to get in touch with us before placing an order if you think someone has attempted to unlock your phone before, and we'll double check that your phone will work with the software for entering the codes.

Other Handsets

We don't tend to encounter issues of other handsets not having any attempts remaining. But if you're unsure about what has happened to the phone in the past, or you see an error message relating to how many attempts are remaining, just ask us and we'll research the answer.
